Abstract
Asphalt Burns are uncommon occupational burns. The major challenge is observed while removing the adherent asphalt from the burn in the emergency room. We report a case of 23-year-old male who presented with a complaint of painful Asphalt burn over bilateral feet 2 hours back. On examination, the dorsum of bilateral feet was covered with asphalt with areas of superficial and superficial partial thickness burn. Primary wound care was done along with tetanus prophylaxis. The adherent asphalt was removed at emergency room on the same day with gentle rubbing of asphalt with purified petroleum jelly. Our report emphasizes on the excellent outcome on the removal of adherent asphalt using purified petroleum jelly in the emergency room, especially in resource limited settings.

Key words: Asphalt, coal tar, occupational burn, purified petroleum jelly
